Earlier today, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It didn't come as much of a shock, as I had been suspecting it, given the range of symptoms (which I will talk about at some point, I'm sure).

Over the next few months, I plan to document the ups and downs of my treatment, and life in general, as well as add a daily portrait. To anyone who will read this on a semi-regular basis, I apologize in advance for not being more handsome.

Deborah Lattimore sent me your link (she was so jazzed to be mentioned on your blog) so I thought I'd start at the beginning.

And you're wrong. You couldn't be more handsome if you tried.

Deborah is an awesome lady :)

And thank you. You are much too sweet.

I've just now finished reading all of your posts. I hope this isn't too personal to ask, but um, how about a photo of you and Melissa?

And I have to ask, what do you do for a living b/c damn, you're an awesome writer -- and the robot drawing? Amazing. ;)

Hehe, thank you much. I'm glad my writing amuses. I currently work at the university down the road as a research assistant in both the psychology department, and at our career services program. It's my way of not getting a real job, as I'm sort of in-between degrees, until I get all healthy-like again, and go back to school.

As for a photo of Melissa and me, it might be tough, as she's rather adamant when it comes to being in front of the camera. But I'll slowly wear her down...

It's Kyle (Marriott). I'm just curious, but is your sickness now related to whatever surgery it was you had done YEARS ago in high school?

Kyle: My memory's kinda fucked, and the only surgery I can recall having throughout highschool was just for a run-of-the-mill benign cyst. Nothing special, and completely unrelated. At least, I think :p
